Q&A at Burton Repair
Question: The water pressure in my sink is not very strong anymore. What can I do?
Answer: Remove the strainer (where the water comes out of the faucet). Take it apart and clean it or replace it with a new one. Take the old strainer with you to one of the home repair supply stores so you get the right size.
Question: My bathroom sink doesn't drain. Do I need to call a plumber?
Answer: Most likely the stopper needs to be removed because hair (and other debris like soap buildup) has caught on the lever that lifts the stopper up and down. The lever either has to be unscrewed or unsnapped from the drain pipe under the sink. This is an easy repair that doesn't require a plumber.
Question: Should I use liquid drain cleaners to unplug my sink or toilet?
Answer: I don't recommend liquid drain cleaners because these products don't give as good results as dismantling the pipe or snaking it to dislodge or remove the blockage. Some plumbers call the liquid drain cleaners "a plumber's best friend" because they actually damage the pipes requiring a complete replacement, which is a big (and therefore expensive) job.
Question: What should I do if my water pipes are frozen?
Answer: First, try using a hair dryer or a little electric heater if you know where the pipe is frozen. Open the cupboards under the sinks to get warm air to the pipes. Second, call Burton Repair -- they have the equipment to thaw the pipes from the inside and the outside.
Question: I live in mobile home and my water pipes freeze up a couple of times every winter. What can I do to prevent this in the future?
Answer: The fast but temporary solution is to leave your water trickling all through the winter. Water that flows doesn't freeze up. But the better, more permanent solution is to get your water lines off the ground and insulate and heat tape. While you're there, insulate the skirting and under the floor. The extra cost will be well worth the saving in heating costs. Call Burton Repair for an estimate of the cost.
Testimonials
"Great guys to have in your corner. We remodeled this summer; I did part of the work myself and Robert and Gene were there for me when I needed them. I appreciated their expertise, efficiency, reasonable rates and most of all their friendly, helpful manner. Robert would even call me up when he saw something he knew I was looking for. They had great ideas and always gave me options. I felt like they were always looking out for my best interest."

"I want to impress how grateful I was for the professionalism and capabilities that Robert and his men displayed while on the job for me. Robert observed that this or that was not working properly while he was doing one of the other jobs we had discussed and offered to take care of them while he was working on something nearby. This company made the sale of my house go smoothly. I received a full price offer! It seems to be getting rarer all the time to have the opportunity to interact with people of quality which I appreciated greatly."

"Burton Repair did a fine job of repairing and improving the energy efficiency of our water heater. Robert and his crew were competent in all aspects of the project. He listened to our thoughts and concerns, asked perceptive questions, had worked with similar situations, and he provided a fresh approach that made the project simpler and less costly. We recommend him highly and would utilize his service again without a second thought."
